This seems pretty damn helpful in Digital drawing, and I need to get more used to it too.
I'd struggle most with skin and the colours to use for it, but hopefully with this information and some practice I can get the hang of it.

It's not how good you are, It's how good you want to be.
Being my birthday yesterday (woop! woop!) my sister got me this little pocket bible by Paul Arden as a little boost of inspiration going into 2015. Thanks Steph, I think this will come in really handy.

Typography: Dragon shout in Skryim
Every once in a while I still like to goof off when I should be doing work, but this time something good has actually come out of it;
I was playing Skyrim as I always would when I need a break and (excuse the geek language you're about to witness) after I had just explored an old ruin I came across a 'Dragon shout' on a wall, to learn the shouts you walk towards it and a gorgeous effect happens as you 'learn' the shout. I thought the effect would work really well in our project as the light source coming from the words were like the soul creatures we have on our PetraStellam world:
This image shows what the effect is like, but I found video which I've posted below to show the effect in action:

The History of Typography - Animated Short
My next assignment is on Typography and since my course is Animation, this video is awesome for inspiration.
Typography: Title Sequence
For the world of PetraStellam we knew we wanted to incoroprate the map into our title sequence as it is the main aspect about the entire planet and is key to the story told by the previous team when creating a short animatic for the world.
In relation to the Game of Thrones titles, having the key landmarks build up as the camera pans through the map would be a gorgeous element to have, however the time frame we have is limiting us to take the time to do this, but we still looked at how we could go about making it possible the main inspiration for a method was the announcement video for 'Pottermore' by JK Rowling:
The Game of Thrones titles were great for some inspiration in this project as they involved the map of Westros. We loved the 3D aspect of being the map to life so we are aiming to apply this to our own map and physically build up the landmarks in the world. (also I just adore these titles and the badass music).
